To download a receipt, choose its width and file format, then click Download Receipt. PDF gives you a document to open in a PDF viewer; PNG gives you an image to use in another document or app.
Follow the steps below in the Walmart editor to download an 80mm PDF or a 110mm PNG. The Nike and McDonald's editors use the same download menu.
Choose an 80mm or 110mm layout
| Width | Layout | Available formats |
|---|---|---|
| 80mm | A narrow receipt layout. | PDF and PNG |
| 110mm | A wider layout with more room across each line. | PDF and PNG |
Changing width can change how descriptions and footer text wrap. Choose the layout you want, then review the preview. Use preview zoom to make the receipt easier to read on screen.
Download an 80mm PDF
- Open the Walmart receipt editor. Enter your details and inspect the preview. For practice, use two fictional item names such as “Demo item A” and “Demo item B.”
- Find Download Receipt. Open the arrow beside it to see the size-and-format menu.
- Under PDF Format, select 80mm (PDF).
- Click Download Receipt and let the export finish.
- Open the downloaded PDF. Check both item names, their amounts, the tax, the total and the last line of the receipt.
The menu selects your format and width. Use the main Download Receipt button after making that selection to create the file.
Download a 110mm PNG
- Open the same arrow beside Download Receipt.
- Under Image Format, choose 110mm (PNG).
- Inspect the wider preview, especially descriptions and footer text.
- Click Download Receipt and open the resulting PNG.
- Open the full image and scroll to its bottom to inspect the last item and footer.
Choose PDF or PNG
| Need | Useful starting point | Final check |
|---|---|---|
| A document to open in a PDF viewer | Complete text and the final line. Find page dimensions in your viewer's document properties if needed. | |
| An image to place in another document or app | PNG | Readability at the size you plan to display it. |
| A long receipt | PDF or PNG | Last item, totals and footer in the full file. |
In the custom receipt maker and invoice generator, use the separate PNG or PDF download button after completing the preview.
Download an A4 invoice
A4 invoice templates use a separate page layout. For example, open the Hampton invoice editor and follow these steps:
- Enter your invoice details and review the live preview.
- Use the preview's plus and minus controls if you need to read the page at a different size.
- Click Download Invoice (A4).
- Open the PDF and check the guest details, dates, charges and final balance. Review every page if the file contains more than one.
This editor downloads an A4 PDF. Its preview zoom changes the on-screen view; it keeps the A4 export layout. It does not offer the receipt menu's PNG choices.
Other receipt sizes
The Walmart, Nike and McDonald's menus described here offer 80mm and 110mm. There is no 58mm option in these menus, and reducing preview zoom keeps the selected export width.
Before you finish
- Confirm the file extension matches the format you selected.
- Open the file and compare its first item, last item, totals and footer with your completed preview.
- If a download does not appear, check your browser's download list before clicking again.
For a taller receipt or an awkwardly scaled preview, follow the long-receipt and preview-zoom walkthrough. For the meaning of the input fields, use the Walmart, Nike and McDonald's field guide.
