The Saks Fifth Avenue layout shows an original price and discount percentage alongside a final price. The final price drives the item total; the original price and percentage explain the markdown. Each item also has its own taxable setting and tax rate.
Understanding the item fields
| Section | Details |
|---|---|
| Customer and store | Enter the client, associate, store, terminal and transaction references. |
| Markdown reference | Original Price and % Discount describe the reduction shown on the receipt. |
| Final selling price | Enter the final unit price. Quantity multiplied by this value determines the line amount. |
| Item tax | Choose whether the item is taxable and enter its tax percentage. The tax code is a label. |
| Payment | Select cash or a card payment. For cash, check the amount tendered and calculated change. |

- Changing a reference discount does not automatically replace the Final Price entry. Check both against the purchase you are recording.
- Item tax is calculated from the final line amount, so verify the selling price before reviewing tax.
