Organize the references around the sale
This QuickBooks receipt template is an independent editor for preparing a receipt layout. The customer details, invoice number and purchase-order reference sit in editable sections, so you can arrange the information to suit the record. It does not connect to QuickBooks or update an accounting file.
Work through the receipt sections
| Section | Details |

| Business header | Replace the sample name, address, contact details and logo. |
| Customer references | Edit the customer ID, invoice number and PO number. |
| Items | Enter quantity and unit price; the preview shows the calculated line amount. |
| Summary | Set the discount and tax as percentages. |
| Payment | Choose the cash or card section and check its references. |
Check the percentage adjustments
- Two items priced at 14.99 produce a 29.98 line. The editor then subtracts the percentage discount from the subtotal and applies tax to the discounted amount.
- Dates can appear in the reference, date and payment sections. Review each one when adapting the example to another transaction.
